Show Man shoots out tire, charged with aggravated assault Dale Stevens was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly shot out a tire on a traveling travel-ing motorcycle Saturday evening. Kyle Jewkes was on his way fishing on a motorcycle about 5 p.m. Saturday when he saw Stevens motioning to him. Jewkes went over the Stevens. Jewkes said Stevens said he was tired of people tearing up his property, and he was going to put a stop to it one way or another. At this time he displayed a .22 caliber rifle. Uintah County Sheriff Deputy Manuel Cantu said the road Jewkes was riding on has been in use for several years. Jewkes said he became scared and took off on the motorcycle, at which time Stevens shot out the back tire of the motorcycle. Jewkes continued down the road on the flat tire and reported the incident to the Uintah County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Cantu contacted the Uintah County Attorney, and due to the circumstances cir-cumstances determined the incident was aggravated assault. Along with Deputy Wayne Hollebeke, Cantu went to the Stevens' residence, where Jewkes positively identified Stevens as the man who shot out his tire. Stevens was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and is being held in the Uintah County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. |
