Show 1 IVhitcroclts Virginia Ferguson Phone 353-4584 Whiterocks ward holds fall social The Annual Whiterocks Ward Fall Social cookout at the Power Plant was held last week, with over 125 memlx-rs and guests attending. After a meal of barbecued chicken, sweet corn, salad, homemade rolls, and ice cream cones, the "kids," old and young, played volleyball and horseshoes. The team of Stan and Stan, Jr., Hoopes, won the horseshoes tournament tourna-ment hands down they will take on all challengers. Following the games, when it got dark, the families sat around the campfire, singing songs. Many people from Whiterocks attended at-tended the dedication ceremonies of the new Lapoint Elementary School on Tuesday night, and the dedication of the new Davis Elementary school in Vernal, on Wednesday night. Laura Mountain Lion and Marcy, Glenda and Frank Arrowchis drove to Provo last week for Lee Anna's graduation. Lee Anna received associates degree in humanities; Nancy Nan-cy L. Moya, of Ft. Duchesne, was also the recipient of an associate degree in humanities. The Richard Ridley family were present for the graduation of Patsy Ridley, in Provo, who received her associates degree in humanities. The Sundance was held last weekend, with colorful tents dotting the area. The celebration was well attended. Clifton Manning has built a new store in Whiterocks, replacing the former general store which burned down. The store is now open for business. Belinda Bagley came home from Provo. where she is employed, for a visit with her family. John and Cherie Dickey drove to Salt Lake last week, for a one day's business trip. Ladd and sister, Tina Tycz, of Lyman, Wyoming, are staying with the Dickeys, and going to school here. |
