I've had my share and ratably even more than my share of Lures' not turning out, and I've even m accused of not focusing. Yes, even me. Xo more weddings, school news, tlib news, and no more taking care of the missionaries. And, no more late Tuesday nights. As I look back on all of the fun, educational, exhausting, and enriching experiences I've had as Society Editor, it's really hard to leave. Never have I had so much fun and done so many different kinds of things. I think one of the funnest times I had doing a story was the one on the prenatal classes which I did for the September 1, 1982 issue. It was fun to go into the hospital and get pictures of all of the babies there at that time, and believe me there were quite a few. I also had the experience of going out through a field to get a story about long horn cattle. -(It's amazing some ot the places you go and some of the things you get to do while doing a story.) & Have you ever had the opportunity of attending Girl Scout Day Camp' This summer as well as last summer was a fun time for me. I got to go with them for a few hours to see what they loarn and do at camp and talked to the girls. Or, have you ever gone to preschool' Not married you say? You don't have any children? Neither do I and that didn't stop me. It's amazing what those little kids learn and what they can do. I even got to go to the pet shop with them. Little kids can get so excited ex-cited about animals and learning new things. Plays are always fun to go to. Being a reporter gave me a sneak preview of what I could expect. The Bottle Hollow Dinner Theaters were included includ-ed in this. This year I got to see the last scene, so I knew the ending. I had to go back to see why everything turned out the way it did and what lead up to that ending. Color pages were another thing I got to be a part of. Whether it was the swim wear page or the fall fashions, we tried our hand at something new and exciting. I'm really going to miss all of the neat things I've gotten to do as Society Socie-ty Editor. I want to expand in the field of journalism, after I get a little more education. Writing is an exciting field to me. |
