Show i " ! Union Cougars defeat Park City Miners I4.12 1 The Union High School Cougars edged edg-ed the Miners in Park City, Friday by the score of 14 to 12. Chad Richards, Union's quarterback, darted one yard with 21 seconds left to lift Union to a win over Park City. Scott Wilson scored a touchdown for Union on a pass and the Cougars connected on both extra point kicks. Patt Ott hit Eric Fouse for one Park City touchdown while Randy Dyer scored on a 30 yard interception for the other Miner score. South Summit edged edg-ed Union's region opponent, Wasatch, 6 to 0, in a practice game. Chad Freestone scored the game's only touchdown as Class 1-A South Summit beat 2-A Wasatch. Grantsville beat North Summit by the score of 24 to 16. Gary Dalton and Darren Cook led the Cowboy scoring parade as new head coach Bill Mikelson opened his career with a victory. Morgan edged Ben Lomond, Lo-mond, 20 to 18. Union will host Pinedale, Wyo., Friday Fri-day at 3 p.m. and will battle Uintah in Roosevelt Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. The Cougars' junior varsity team will battle bat-tle East Carbon on the road, Saturday at 7 p.m. The Cougars will host Emery, Sept. 16 in the annual homecoming game and the junior varsity team will battle bat-tle Emery in an away game Sept. 15. Union will take on Grantsville in an away game, Sept. 23 and the JV team from Union will host Grantsville Sept. 22. Union's varsity team will battle Monumental High School on the road, Sept. 29 and the Union JV team will host Craig, Sept. 27.
