Not pictured, Peggy Ence, teacher vice president. Naples School PTA starts new year "Up, Up and Away with PTA," was the theme selected for the year by Naples School PTA. On Aug. 23 a teacherPTA luncheon was held. The guest speaker for the occasion was Byron Merrell. He spoke on what he supports in PTA and how PTA, the school and family works together. Special guests were state regional representative for PTA, Susan Anthon, local district PTA counsel, Debbie Smith, and District board member, Karen Peisley. Balloons were used in decorations in conjunction with the theme. Back to school night is September 15 for Naples School. Along with this will be the student "Harvest Festival." Students bring different fruits and vegetables from home for this annual event. Earlier, commissioners for Naples PTA were elected. They are: Jolene Kendall, community unity involvement involve-ment commissioner; Jean Evans, aide to Kendall; Marylan Price, music commissioner; Chris Richardson, education and family life commissioner; commis-sioner; Linda Pitchford, individual development commissioner; Angela Pack, safety and welfare commissioner; commis-sioner; Debbie Carter, health commissioner; commis-sioner; Susan Munk, newsletter and Linda Alexander, fund raiser. Naples School preschool registration will be through September 2. The preschool will start on Sept. 13 and be held from 3-4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
