Show Tridell Lorna fTlcKee Phone 247-2350 Lydon-McKee take first in talent show Leslie Lydon and Lennis McKee took first place in the senior division in the Farm Bureau talent show for Uintah County Friday night. Melanie McKee took first place and Cory McKee took second place in the Junior Divison. Leslie and Lennis performed a guitar duet and Melanie and Cory played the piano. The first place winners win-ners will compete at the State Fair Sept. 10 in Salt Lake City. Those attending Education Week at BYU in Provo were Janet Merkley, Sherrie Brinkerhoff , Sandy and Karen McKee. Visiting recently at the Clyde Merkley home has been Aneita Hancock, Han-cock, Sunnyvale, Calif. Aneita is Mr. Merkley's sister. Also visiting at the Merkley home the past week was John Merkley and sons, Smithfield, Utah. They enjoyed a fishing trip while here. Thursday was an exciting day for the Tridell elementary children as they entered their first day of school in the new Lapoint school. Peggy Ahlborn is the 5th grade teacher. Patricia Stump drives the elementary students from Tridell to Lapoint. Gene Wallace drives the school bus from the Gusher area to Todd and West Junior High School and Elma Wallace is driving driv-ing the Head-start bus. Clark and Sandy enjoyed visiting in Provo Saturday. Dennis and Susan Clark went to Salt Lake City this week to visit Christine and Shayne Funk. Mrs. Linda Ellison and daughters, Orem, are spending the weekend at the Aaron Simmons home. Mr. and Mrs. Winford Gray returned return-ed Friday to their home in Lehi after spending two weeks in Tridell. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Merkley have a new granddaughter. Parents are Beryl and Donald Trujillo, Rangely. The Trujillo's now have six children, 4 boys and two girls. Mrs. Merkley cared for the children while their mother was in the hospital. Sharla and Arlene Haslem visited from Monday until Wednesday at the Ron Ruiz home in Provo. Teresa Page and Virginia Goodrich were visitors in Provo Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Deward Cook and Gene and Mary Cook spent the weekend at the Lester Bartlett home. The Cook's are from Fallbrook, Calif. The children of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Webb are staying at the Lester Bartlett home and going to the Lapoint school. Bob and Connie Goss and seven children, Virginia, visited during the week at the Paul Kitchen and the McKee homes. Mr. and Mrs. Davis Morrill spent last weekend in Provo. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Marks and attended the Miss Teen-Age America Pageant where Mrs. Morrill's granddaughter, grand-daughter, Joyce Burton, was a contestant. |
