Uintah lost the gamble as Carbon Car-bon nabbed the ball on the Uintah 46. Ed Shriner and Weldon sacked the quarterback quarter-back and the two teamed up with Lance for a second quarterback sack. The Utes were looking for the pass, but were hoping hop-ing for a run, which would use ud the rest of the time on the clock. Carbon ran with the football on its last play and used up the remaining seconds, but the Dinos gained a touchdown on a 54 yard run by Allred. which tied up the game at 20-20. The Utes stopped Allred on the two point conversion attempt. Allred broke three or more tackles on the touchdown run and the clock hit zero as he crossed the goal line. Uintah moved into Carbon territory, but was forced to punt the football away. Carbon had the ball on its nine yard line and a penalty placed them on the four. The Utes got the pigskin back when Lance nabbed a Carbon fumble on the half foot line. Robb blasted up the middle for a touchdown at the 3:58 mark of the third quarter which gave Uintah a 26-20 lead. The extra point kick was no good. The l'tes gained a good kick as Carbon was stopped on its 13 yard line. Two quarterback sacks in a row pushed Carbon Car-bon back to the eight yard line. Carbon's quarterback and Allred goofed up on a running play as they crashed into each other and David Giese dropped the runner run-ner for a safety late in the third quarter, which gave the Utes a 28 to 20 advantage. advan-tage.
