BENJAMIN MCMICKELL Jenkins, McMickell exchange wedding vows Thelma Klyn Jenkins and Benjamin E. McMickell were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony performed by Bishop Ron Robb. Thelma is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bowthorpe, Vernal, and Benjamin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James McMickell, Lapoint. Given in marriage by her father and grandfather, Edward Jenkins, the bride wore a traditional white dress with a princess cut bodice. It had pearl and glass beads on the flower appliques and lace ruffles at the ends of the sleeves and bottom of the dress. Her chapel length veil matched the dress. Thelma carried a silk bouquet of peach and blue roses and white baby's breath with peach and blue ribbons. Attending the bride was her maid of honor, Jana Holmes, and bridesmaids Carleeta Bowthorpe, sister of the bride, and Teresa Slade. They wore long, blue print dresses with lace and carried strands of silk peach and blue roses to match the bride's bouquet. Jacklyn and Nickole Elmer were flower girls, wearing rainbow dresses and white gloves and carrying baskets, which were all used in the bride's mother's wedding. Timothy Lee McMickell, Mc-Mickell, the groom's son, wore a blue suit as ringbearer. The groom wore a white tuxedo with tails and was attended by Jimmy -McMickell as his best man and ushers Oliver Spurling and Guy Crilly. They wore light blue tuxedos. The bride's mother wore a long, princess style baby blue dress, and the mother of the groom wore a long, pink dress. The church was decorated with a white arch decorated with green garlands and roses and candleabras with peach candles and blue ribbons. Margret Caldwell played the piano for the ceremony. At the guest book was Verna Elmer. Giftbearers were Lena Bowthorpe and Jan Elmer. Brenda Nel and Kim Lente helped with the gifts. Receptionists were Edward and Thelma Jenkins. A three-layered cake with four rotating cakes was served by Marsha Elmer, Jackie Jenkins and Sharlene Bodily. It was decorated with blue and peach flowers and doves and hearts. The three layers were banana, applesauce and carrot cake. Special out-of-town guests were Ada Curtis, Dora Freston, Teresa Kempton, Dick and Lydia Densley, Randy and Ann Freston, Wendell and Leola Freston and the VanLewen family. After a trip to Wendover, Nevada and Salt Lake City, the couple will make their home in Vernal. |
