Show DUP HOLDS ANNUAL FALL CONVENTION Daughters of the Utah Pioneers held their annual an-nual fall convention at the Vernal Golden Age Center, Oct. 10. Prelude music was by Eva Hatch, Uintah County organist. Salute to the U.S. nag, Pledge of Allegiance, led by Hilda S. Morgan. Welcome was by Myrl Eaton, Uintah County first vice president. Invocation by Maybell Chivers, song by congregation, "The Daughters of Utah Pioneers," led by Enid W. Hatch. Roll call of all camps of Duchesne County and Uintah County. Duchesne County Bernice Atwood, president, gave the report of their year's activities, then called on all their camps to report. A solo was sung by Sharon Evertson, "My Mother's Voice," accompanied by Eva Hatch. Report of Uintah County was given by Myrl Eaton, Ila Herbert gave the treasurer report; Margaret Elison gave the historian report; Blanche Smith gave the report of Buena Vista Camp; Gertrude Turner for Escalante; Lila Bennion for May Ruple; Kathleen Allred for Ft. Thornburg; Geraldine Powell for Tokawana; Mary Freeman for Vernal; Marilyn Hunting for Bicentennial. Visitors from Central Company of the Worldwide World-wide Daughter of Utah Pioneers were Utah Chandeler Garbett, the museum curator; Lavern Downard, the corresponding secretary gave a message. Trio with Janet Weeks, Kathy Hatch and Cheryl Weeks sang "The Rose," accompanied by Eva Hatch. |
