'i 1 THE UINTAH Community Concert Association will begin its 1981-82 season Tuesday, Oct. 20 with this men's chorus, Chanticleer, Chan-ticleer, performing. Chanticleer to perform first Community Concert Oct. 20 Chanticleer, a Feast of Fine Voices, will be presented to the members of the Uintah Community Concert Association Tuesday, Oct. 20 in the Vernal Junior High School auditorium. Curtain time is 8:15 p.m. This is the first concert of the 1981-82 season and admittance is by membership mem-bership card only. Membership cards have been mailed and anyone who has paid the membership fee and does not receive a card should call Mrs. W. L. Pease at 789-0146. The San Francisco Chronicle has called Chanticleer "An Elite Men's Chorus". Travel the centuries with California'sunique ensemble dedicated to the performance of the rich male-voice male-voice repertoire ranging from the Middle Ages through the present day popular music scene. Whether performing per-forming barbershop quartets, medieval motets or upbeat Gershwin, the group is certain to appeal to all ages. The Uintah Community Concert Association had a successful membership mem-bership week with 346 individual memberships purchased in addition to 59 family memberships. Because of this success there will again be four concerts con-certs presented to the members this year: Chanticleer Oct. 20; Romberg Remembered, March 4; The Viraje Folk Ensemble of Latin America, March 25; Steven and Nadya Gordon, Duo-pianists, April 28. Membership week began with a potluck dinner held at Kingsbury Community House for those involved in the membership campaign. Mrs. Kenneth Kindt was dinner chairman with Mrs. Walter Baker arranging for the entertainment. A string quartet composed' of Mrs. Douglas Gale, Marjean Oviatt, Mrs. Rex Hanberg and Mrs. Allen Day, accompanied by Mrs. Baker, played "The Shadow of Your Smile." Mrs. Gary Fountaine sang the "Habanera" from the opera Carmen, accompanied by Mrs. Baker. Mrs. Doris Kennedy, national representative from Community Concerts, spoke to the group.
