Show Rains cause muddy work at plant site Heavy rains in the area of the Bonanza Bonan-za Power Plant being built by Deseret Generation and Transmission Cooperative have caused some difficulties dif-ficulties and added problems, according accor-ding to DG&T officials. Roads into the plant site have been slick and muddy. Travel during the stormy weather has been re-routed to the Bonanza highway and then back west to the plant site rather than through the shorter Red Wash road because of poor road conditions on the soft dirt road. Water has washed around some forms and concrete footings at the plant site. The full extent of the damage has not been determined, but most workers have remained on the job through the muddy conditions. Probably the biggest loss will be the delay the heavy rains have caused, reported one official. Since the project is on a tight schedule, any delay will be expensive. |
