Show Voice of By Joan Janes The harvest season has brought many donations from gardens around the valley. Our meals have been greatly enhanced by the donations and we would like to thank all those who have donated food to our meals. The Uintah Basin Shrine Club have also donated enough roast beef for a meal and we really appreciate this. ' There were 135 attending a ham dinner on Monday, Oct. 12. All those attending celebrated Columbus Day by visiting with their friends and enjoying a good meal. Also there were 120 attending at-tending last Thursday's dinner. After dinner Monday there was a film shown entitled "Help Yourself to Better Health." Next week's menus will be meat loaf and baked potatoes, corn, fruit salad and butterscotch dessert on Monday and Thursday we will be serving salmon loaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans, jello salad and peach custard pie. Last week's Bingo winners were Phyllis Warby with six games and second place winner Rosalie Burton with five games. We are happy to welcome two new Bingo players with us this week. They were L'eora Jones and Iorna Holmes. Hope they enjoy Bingo as well as we enjoyed having them. The Richard Murray family have donated eight red padded chairs to the center in his memory. This generous gift was very much appreciated. It's settled, if you want to wear a costume at the Friday night dance Oct. 30, that will be great. Those not wanting to dress up are welcome also. How's that for pleasing everyone? Friday's dancers had a wonderful time. We sang happy birthday to Tess Cowalt and all of us congratulated Stan Hoopes and Mary Lynn Click. They are engaged to be married Dec. 18. Their wedding dance will be held Dec. 19 at the Ashley State Center with Newel's Harmony Four providing the music. The Lapoint dance Saturday, Oct. 10 was announced and a get well card was signed for Milt Wooley. New folks attending were Mr. and Mrs. Herman 1 1 il key from Rangely; Carol Newman, Lapoint, and Cletta Parrott, Vernal. We'll sec everyone this Friday for another fun evening. Remember: "One never finds life worth living. One always has to make it worth living." |
