Show PTSA schedules Halloween carnival at junior high By Linda Kurtenbach PTSA Memberships The executive board of the Vernal Junior High PTSA reports that it has scheduled a carnival at the school Oct. 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. From 6:30 to 8:30, the majority of activities, including in-cluding cake walks, booths with snack foods, a dance, af spook alley and games, will take place in the Vernal Junior High cafeteria. Snack foods such as fudge, popcorn balls, carmel apples, rootbeer floats and shakes will be on sale. There will be prizes awarded for the best costume at each of the three grade levels. Originality will be a key factor in the judging. This activity will be chaperoned by approximately 30 volunteers from PTSA. Although the activity is scheduled primarily for junior high students, parents may come to take pictures. However, a booth will be provided to take pictures if parents are unable to attend. Contestants will be able to have their photo taken with a popular spook of the day. At 8:30 p.m., the action of the evening will be transferred from the cafeteria to the auditorium where the movie. "The Fall of the House of Usher," will he shown. This film will last until nearly 10 p.m. The purpose of PTSA's Halloween Carnival is to provide positive entertainment en-tertainment for a Halloween-oriented celebration. The desire is to reduce vandalism to Vernal Junior High. |
