Alarik Myrin, Altamont, president of the Utah Cattlemen's Association, announced an-nounced he is quite concerned with some of the publicity being generated by opponents of the cattlemen's beef research and information act, commonly common-ly called the "Beeferendum". One of the most common complaints has been the federal government will control the program and nothing could be further from the truth according to Myrin. The Beef Board will operate the program pro-gram and members of the Board will be cattlemen nominated by their own state or regional organizations. These members will have all of the ultimate responsibility of the management of the program. Registration for voting rights was held in the various county ASCS offices from January 28 through February 6. Those who are registered are encouraged encourag-ed by Myrin to cast an affirmative vote in the same office from February 19 through February 22. |
