Show Jcnson j Gladys Peterson I Phone 789-1945 J Howard Cowans attend funeral in Seattle, Wash. The Howard Cowans went to Seattle, Washington to attend the funeral of her brother H. Keith Willman who passed away from Herpes disease, after contacting it three weeks earlier. While there, they say the new Seattle Temple in its construction state and visited the visitor's center by the temple site. They were gone five days before coming back home by plane. The Meril Snows are happy to announce an-nounce the arrival of another grandson. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephan Hiatt (Donnett) and was born Saturday, Satur-day, Feb. 16. He is welcomed home by his brother, Scott. Mikell Peterson and Wilbert Woody went to their grandmother Ruppe's home in Naples, and cut firewood for her on their day off from school Monday. Mon-day. It's time once again for all students in grades 8 thru 11 to sign up for Seminary. Ruth Haslem has been home this last week from Colorado and is preparing to leave for California soon. Ann and Christine Peterson, and Sandar Turnbow traveled to Salt Lake City last week. While there they visited with their brothers, Eugene Woody and Fritz Begay. They went to Layton where Sandra visited her brothers, sisters and grandmother. They also sent to Midvale to see the Marlin Moon family. Thursday night they saw Eugene off for a business trip to Phoenix, Arizona. The girls attended the wrestling tournament in Salt Lake City. While on their way home from Salt Lake City, the girls toured around by Provo and visited with the Fred Woody's. Many residents of Jensen traveled to Salt Lake City this weekend to attend the wrestling tournament. Among those attending were: the Bill Murrays, the Verlin Vincents, the George Ainges, the Bud Gilroys and Lynett and Brent Morrill. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ruppe and family left for Salt Lake City Friday where they met their sons, Scott, from Las Vegas and Cal, from Provo, and attended at-tended the tournament. From there they went to Idaho Falls, Idaho to see her parents, the Windsors, then they motored on into Rexburg and visited with Jack's sister and family, the Alan Clarks. The Sweetheart Ball was held, in the Jensen Ward cultural hall Saturday night. The Homesteaders Band played country and western music. A large crowd was in attendance and light refreshments were served. The decorations were under the direction of the George Turners and many others helped get them up. Phil Walton was the emcee of the evening. A dance marathon was held and the winning couple was the Terry Backers from Maeser. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the King and Queen of Hearts and their attendants. Reigning over the festivities were King Auer Warren and his Queen Rita, it was also her birthday. Their attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Lute Stewart-first attendants at-tendants and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Thompson, second attendants. Pictures were taken of couples by Monty Hewitt, while his wife Melonie kept the refreshment table replenished. |
