Show Maeser Enid Hatch Phone 789-3150 V 1 Maeser Second to celebrate sesquicentennial Sesquicentennial Spotlight of Maeser Second in 1980 will be a Grand Ball. Maeser Second Ward will hold a Grand Ball in the newly completed Maeser Stake Center February 29. Beginning at 8 p.m., a floor show will be featured including in-cluding a waltz, square dance, Charleston, and disco dance demonstration demonstra-tion by Berkley and Barbara Hall. A special invitation is extended to all former residents who have ever lived in the Maeser Second Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh W. Colton, recent-ty recent-ty returned from vacationing on the Hawaiian Islands. They visited the four islands, namely the big island of Hawaii, Maori, Kauai, and Oahu. They reported that they enjoyed the gorgeous red sunsets, the high dashing white waves against the high rugged lava black rocks, the green grass and lovely ' orchids, hibiscus trees everywhere, and the delicious pineapple. Lastly they joined their friends Claire and Voneta Hopkins in Laie, and visited with them, the BYU campus, the beautiful Hawaiian Mormon Temple and the Polynesion Cultural Center. At the center they were entertained by students from six of the South Pacific Islands, Fiji, Maori of New Zealand, Somoa, Tonga, Tahiti and Hawaii with dance and song and music. They were able to visit their homes, see them at their arts and crafts and learned to appreciate ap-preciate the beauty and friendliness of the South Pacific people. Mr. and Mrs. Abe Hatch accompanied accom-panied Lloyd and Ramea Hatch to Salt Lake City, Sunday, where they attended attend-ed a missionary farewell for Quinn Hatch, Hat-ch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hatch, Hat-ch, who has been called to serve a two year North Carolina LDS mission. Deloris Merkley was in Salt Lake City last week where she attended a Bernina Machine school. Mrs. Merkley is the manager of the local Western Auto store. In October she went to Kansas City Ci-ty to a special school for managers of Western Auto stores. Val and Cheryl Woodward visited over the weekend with the Charles Woodwards. George D. and Diane Merkley .made a business trip to Salt Lake City Thursday. Lane and Rondie Owens and children from Chester, Idaho have been visiting at the home, qr Clare Hulburt. While here they visited" the'Thoral Bodilys, and the Larry Abplanalps, . Evan Smith of Provo recently visited at the home of David and Kathy Smith Frank and Veda Parkin, Nephi, and .Roland and Velda Hansen, Orem, visited over the weekend at the home of Morgan Merkley, the June Merkleys and the George D. Merkleys. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Robb, Whiterocks, visited at the Ron Robb home on Sunday. Jim and Valete Cann and children from Salt Lake City spent the long weekend visiting with Rowena Richens, the Doyle Harrisons, and the Kedric Caldwells. Brent and Carol Felth were in Salt Lake City during last week on business and to attend a basketball game their daughter, Susie, played in for Uintah High School. Mrs. L. A. Timothy has returned after six weeks visit in California with her daughters and families. In Pleasant Hill she visited with Gail Davis, in Paso Robles she visited with Delwin and Oral Deeters. Mr. Timothy has been in California for sometime visiting both daughters, while he has had surgery on his hands. At present he is at the Deeters home. |
