This week he finished laying tile on one and a half blocks. Workers put final touches on Main Street Main Street begins to take shape as workers put the final touches of tile laying and preparing planter boxes for trees between the sidewalk and the curb. Bud Morrow of Morrow Tile began laying red-colored tile between Main Street and the sidwalk in front of Walker Bank last week. He completed about a block and a half and anticipates to finish the tile work in six weeks. According to City Planner Kenneth Fisher, the city will begin preparing the planter boxes along Main Street a week from Tuesday. Fisher said the city will wait until the planter boxes are prepared before determining if the ' trees will be planted this year. The city plans to plant Gold Rains in the boxes. Also, city workers shoveled up Main Street in front of the Sage Motel, First West, to repair a faulty connection in the newly laid water line. Fisher reported the leak was caused by overcom pact ion in that area. He said it was the only report of such a leak in the new line along Main Street. i |
