Show PATRONS TO BECOME AWARE OK UINTAH DISTHCT SCHOOLS GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES In each school is now posted the policy of the Uintah School District Board of Education referring refer-ring to the proper handling handl-ing of grievances. Basically, this policy states the Uintah School district recognizes that, at times, unexpected problems pro-blems exist which need to be heard at a higher level. The Board's "grievance procedure" (Article 8 Section 34 pp. 62-63) states that an aggrieved employee, student, or parent should attempt to present and resolve the complaint at the local level with either the teacher, principal, or supervisor. In this conference con-ference that aggrieved in-dividupl in-dividupl may wish to choose someone to accompany ac-company himher to this interview. If the interview inter-view proves unsatisfactory, unsatisfac-tory, the aggrieved individual in-dividual is entitled to request re-quest an interview with the Superintendent. If the aggrieved individual is not satisfied with the decision of the Superintendent, the Superintendent will arrange ar-range for the complaint to be heard by the Board of Education. In this hearing hear-ing the aggrieved individual in-dividual may (1) be represented by counsel, (2) produce witnesses, (3) hear testimony against himher, (4) cross examine witnesses, (5) examine documentary documen-tary evidence. The decision deci-sion of the Board will be final. This policy was first adopted in 1977 and then reaffirmed in the new policy book of 1979. REVIEW OK SERVICES. SER-VICES. Adopted December 27, 1979, the Board of Education believes in a self -policing process of teachers and programs. Although patrons are urged to settle set-tle their problems at a local level and with the individual in-dividual involved, if situations exist wherein further action is felt to be necessary, a "review of services" form - may be filled out by the patron. A review team will then investigate in-vestigate this request thoroughly and a written response provided. Forms may be obtained from each building principal prin-cipal or the board office.
