Show Dry Fork flooding hits line The Dry Fork overflowed its banks Wednesday night of last week and threatened a 20-inch city water line near the chlorinator at Merkley's Park. According to Lyman Merkley, City public works director, the flow down the Dry Fork was the highest he has seen in the 16 years he has worked with it. Merkley said the chlorinator was never endangered by the water, but when it formed an island and flowed over its south bank it threatened the water line west of the chlorinator. The line crosses the Dry Fork at a 90 degree angle. Since Wednesday of last week the flooding has subsided and no damages have been reported to the water line. |
