Show Ballard I Telintha Rasmussen B PhorW22M875l Dedication of Ballard Town County Building Don't forget the dedication of the Ballard Town and County building next Saturday evening June 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. Location is one mile south of Ballard Church. Dr. Morrow, who gave the ten acres of ground to Ballard Town for the building and a park will be present. Chris Sharp has gone to Arizona for awhile and has rented his trailer home to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Johnson. The Johnson's have been living in Roosevelt, but have bought a lot from Kelly Redmond next to Chris' home, and will be moving a trailer on it at a later date. Phillis and Linda Domgaard spent several days last week with their sister, Karen, who is employed in Salt Lake City. Myron Accuttoroop, has been made an alternate High Councilman in the Roosevelt Stake. Myron and family now live in North Ballard Ward. Beatrice Lundberg went to Salt Lake City to see her doctor. She will be gone a week. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Markey, who used to run a grocery store in Gusher for many years, then a few years ago sold out, moved to Vernal, have now bought the George Berrett place in Ioka and are living there. Laraine Crowl, Mr. and Mrs. Buzz Larson's daughter, had a major operation last Friday in the Cottonwood Hospital in Salt Lake City. She will be there another week. Her parents were with her in Salt Lake City. Laraine lives in Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Ercanbrack have another grandson, born June 16 in the Duchesne Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Ercanbrack. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was named Andrew Kevin. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Myron Haslem, great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Hamblin all of Mount Wells. Mr. and Mrs. William McClure and Mr. and Mrs. Don DeMille and family all went to Evanston, Wyo., to a wedding wed-ding reception for Mrs. McClure's nephew, Gordon Moore, last week. They spent the night there before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cook attended the funeral services of Mrs. Dale W. (Mickie) Sornson, in Salt Lake City last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Sornson owned property just east of the Cooks, the ' property used to belong to the Man-warings. Man-warings. Mr. Sornson was a teacher at the Salt Lake Vocational College. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Allred and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Allred of Vernal spent four days in Fort Collins, Colo., visiting Mr. and Mrs. Reed (Nadine) Hall. Nadine is Jack's daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Mitchell have a new son, born June 16 at the Duchesne County Hospital. He weighed 8 lbs. and was named Jarid Wade. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Mitchell and I R. and Mildred Fausett of Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. Val Betts will soon be moving into the Jr. Jenkins home on Independence road south of U.S. 40. Val has been going to school in Salt Lake City to the University of Utah Medical Center. He will be graduating and has excepted the position of lab technician at the Duchesne County Hospital here in Roosevelt. Carol Lee Rich, who had her eye operated on last week at the LDS Hospital will be there for another week, then for the next five weeks will have to remain in Salt Lake City and go into the hospital for an hour a day for treatments. Jeanie White, who received surgery at the LDS Hospital last week will soon be coming home. Chris Pure from Casper, Wyo., was a visitor at the Irvin Secrest home. She brought her two boys to spend some vacation time at their grandparents home. The Secrests also had their older two grandsons from Roosevelt staying with them. ' Danny Betts reported his LDS missionary experiences in Sacrament meeting last Sunday in Ballard Ward. Special guests were his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed McConkie and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Derkak all from Salt Lake City. |
