Show Massey family reunion held Friday, June 20, Mrs. Melvin W. (Mable M.) Neiberger and sister, Mrs. R.J. (Fearb Stubhs of Vernal, joined their sister, Mrs. Sylvan (Wanda) Reynolds of Roosevelt, Ut. to travel to Provo. They stayed that night in Orem, Ut., with Mrs. NnhxTgnr's daughter and family, the Ladel) Richardsons. Activities included discussion of the Massey Hook (family history and genealogy; lx:ing published and the selection of new officers. Old of-fiers of-fiers were, Farell Massey, president, Hal Massey, vice president, Ralph Olsen, secretary, Joy McOanials, genealogy research, Sybil Webb, historian, and Wiley I'ope and 18 other family representatives, selected from each of the still living original branches of the Massey family. Next year's newly elected ollicers are: president, Sybil Webb, vice president, presi-dent, l.yrida Colby, secretary treasurer, Hetty J. Richardson, hiHiorian, Sharman McDaniels. The past presidency. Ferrel and Hal Massey, Ralph Olsen and genealogy research chairman were retained to help work on the Massey book, publication publica-tion pending. The Don and Kathcrn Masscys from Williams, Ariz., traveled the farthest to be present at the reunion. Joe Massey from the George Washington Massey side, was the oldest member pre-. cut Maud Massey and Lewis Van Massey were unable to attend and are the oldest living family members. They are on the John D. Massey side and arc ages !i: and 9-1. May Massey Harbor is the oldest living member on the George Washington Massey side. This was lier first year to miss the reunion. Merle (Massey), Ross, Mable (Massey) Noilierger and lla.el Massey Gurr, were awarded prizes for being able to name all 47 of the pictures thai were on a large poster ol people from the past and present family members. The day's aclivilies ended at !j p.m. II was decided to hold next year's reunion at the Arthur Massey Ranch up Dry Fork Canyon. Mrs. Neiberger, Mrs. Slubbs, and Mrs. Reynolds shopped in Orem and Provo when they visiled oilier relatives. These included Mrs. Noiborger's new mid first great grand child, Kli.abeth Ann Richardson. Kli.abelh is the new daughter of Wade und Horaln Richardson of Provo, she wus born June I), !!)(). They then spent Home time with their !H year old father, Lewis Van Massey, at Ihe Tinipanogos Nursing home In Orem, before turning to Roosevelt and Vernal. |
