A major development for 1976 is the new body design lor the popular Blazer that features a new steel cab ith a roll bar that was formerly separate now mg built into the steel , ront compartment roof and lock pillar structures. Other significant 1976 Onvrolet light-duty implements im-plements are: Improved braking Performance with new wke lining materials and flieel cylinder changes. A new quick-release 'ure for Sportvan rear mis for easier removal installation. A total of in different exterior two-tone color combinations for two-door Fleetside pickup models and an expansion of two-tone two-tone color combinations for the Suburban, the award-winning award-winning tow vehicle. The Blazer, a pace-setter in the recreational vehicle field, enhances its standing with the new body design featuring integral steel roof and full doors for the front compartment with resulting gains in water tightness and structural rigidity. The shorter rear roof is removed more easily because of its lighter weight and fewer retaining bolts. The tailgate with manually operated roll-down window is retained for 1976. The new Blazer cab roof features double-wall- construction con-struction with integral drip gutters. The new Blazer Cheyenne models have a choice of new all-vinyl or basket weave pattern cloth seat trim. A soft ride suspension is now standard equipment on Blazer four- wheel drive models and caster angles have been increased on these models to improve road stability. Chevrolet continues to make advances in anti-corrosion anti-corrosion protection. For 1976 conventional truck models, these include applying ap-plying zinc-rich primer to key areas of front fender inner and outer panels before assembly and final prime, as well as the use of pre-coated steel for front door outer panels and doorhandle reinforcements for better prime coverage of inner surfaces. ; Fleetside pickup box inner panels have been revised for better paint coverage and drainage in the area directly above the wheel opening. There is also increased in-creased clearance between inner and outer panels at lower corners of the doors to improve drainage. Instrument panel clusters are revised for 1976 to include in-clude a kilometer scale on the speedometer. A voltmeter volt-meter replaces the ammeter am-meter in the optional guage package of conventional cab, van and four-wheel drive models. The 292-cubic inch six-cylinder six-cylinder engine ' becomes available nationally with its certification for the state of California. A maintenance free battery is standard equipment on conventional ' models with 454-V8 engine. |
