Show Pirate News Notes ... By Royd Halt May 10 the regional boys and girls track meets were held at East Carbon. The boys came in third and the girls won the region trophy. For the boys Tim Vetere took three firsts in the shot-put, javelin and disc. Brad Burr also made a good showing with three seconds in the 120 yard high hurdles, intermediate hurdles and the high jump. Brad was also part of a first place mile relay team consisting of himself, David Simonson, Phillip Lemieux, and Randy Stubblefield. Kirt Jewkes took a second in the 2-mile run and T. Ross took a third in the long jump. For the girls, Stacy King was doing her thing with two firsts in the long jump and 220 yard dash and by taking a second in the javelin. Stacy was also part of the 880 relay team with Joni Banasky, Kim I Seager and Dawna Wilcox i which took first. The 440 relay ' team consisting of Angie l Devereaux, Shalia Burr, Can-dee Can-dee Vetere and Kris Lublin also took first. Kris won first . place in the hurdles and Kim ' Seager took third. Kim also I took third in the 100 yard dash and the long jump. Laura Acerson took second in the disc and third in the shot. I Candee Vetere took second in I the shot. Chris Powell was right behind in the disc with a third. Joni Banasky took a third in the 440 yard dash. At the girls' state track meet, Stacy King took second in the 220 yard dash. She tied for the old state record in the long jump and beat the old state record in the javelin. Kim Seager took third in the; hurdles and fourth in tjre hundred. The 880 relay tpam with Stacy King, Joni Banasky, Banas-ky, Dawna Wilcox and Kim Seager broke the old state record. The 440 relay team with Angie Devereaux, Shalia Burr, Candee Vetere and Kris Lublin also took first. Laura Acerson took third in the disc and Chris Powell took a sixth in this event. Candee Vetere put the shot for a fifth. Lori Hunt ran the mile for a sixth and Joni Banasky took a sixth in the 440 yard dash. Brad Burr took a fourth in the intermediate hurdles and a fifth in the 120 yard hurdles. Tim Vetere took third in the disc and fourth in the shot. Brad Burr, Phillip Lemieux, David Simonson and Randy Stubblefield made up the mile relay team which took fourth. Class night will be May 20 and Graduation the 26th. There will be a dance after graduation. |
