Show Moab Stopped in Baseball Semi-final One big inning was the story for both Moab and Grantsville Tuesday, but the Cowboys had the biggest inning and stopped Moab 5-3 in the state semi-finals played at Provo. The Devils big inning was a three run outburst in the third highlighted by a prodigious blast out of the park by catcher Mark Roberts. Wes Key, on by an error, and Marlyn Wyatt who single-scored on the homer. The Cowboys picked up one run in the fourth, then erupted for four big ones in the fifth inning. The Cowboys scored on a balk, a passed ball and on the hitting of Phil Durfee who had three hits for the game; Grantsville goes against South Sevier Saturday for the championship. |
