Show Bed:, Former Utah Pres., Will Speak Arlen D. Beck, a former President of the Utah Jaycees, will keynote the Utah State Jaycee's Annual Convention being held in Moab this weekend, May 21, 22, and 23. Beck's speech will be given at the keynote luncheon on Saturday. Beck is presently Vice President of Marketing for Alexander Hamilton Life Insurance In-surance Company of America, Farmington Hills, Michigan. In the span of three years that he has been an officer, his company has gone from a loss position of SI. 5 million to profits of $3.6 million. He attended the College of Eastern Utah with further work at Louisiana State and Purdue University, and is past president of both the Price and Utah State Jaycees. Beck (J.C.I.. Senator) has a long history of Jaycee, religious-and religious-and political involvement. Beck also found time to be highly active in political affairs both on the state and national level. His political activities included County Chairman of the Utah Republican Party; member of the Utah Republican Republi-can Central Committee; member mem-ber of Congressman Laurence Burton's staff as Area Representative; Repre-sentative; and Area Campaign Chairman for U.S. Congressman Congress-man Burton. For these activities, activi-ties, Beck has received many awards, chief among which is the Distinguished Servie A-ward A-ward in Price for work in the community. Beck is currently serving in the Bloomfield Hills Stake High Council of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and his wife, Marilyn, and their four children child-ren reside in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He was elected President of the Utah Jaycees in Moab at the last convention hosted by the local group in 1969. |
