Show Chevrolet sales story in Carbon area Chevrolet sales in the Carbon area began in the 1920's when the Redd Motor Company was formed and began selling the line. This franchise was kept in the Redd family until 1968 when Sheldon Hansen, a veteran in the auto sales field, bought the company and changed its name to Sheldon Hansen Chevrolet. The next few years were good ones for the company as sales and service continued con-tinued to grow to the point where the old facility at 129 W. Main in Price would simply not accommodate all departments. Plans went ahead in early 1975 to move Sheldon Hansen Chevrolet and, on December 1, 1975, construction con-struction work began on the new building and grounds located at 1115 S. Carbon Ave. The sales and service staff moved into their new home last April 1. The new facility, featuring the largest selection of cars and trucks in Eastern Utah, is situated on 6 acres of ground with a combined sales and service area encompassing nearly 26,000 square feet of usable space. Sheldon Hansen Chevrolet will not only handle the complete line of fine Chevrolet cars and trucks but will also serve as the Southeastern Utah headquarters for Terry and Taurus travel trailers and Gulf Stream boats. |
