Show CIO TO PLAN STATECOUNCIL - Delegates from unions In Utah affiliated with the Committee for Industrial Organization will convene in Salt Lake City next Monday to consider formation of state industrial indus-trial council. Between 100 and ISO delegates, y representing 10.180 union workers, will attend the sessions, which will legin at 10 a. m. in tne association clubrooms. 168 South West Temple street, James Morgan, regional di-rector di-rector for the CIO in Utah and Wyoming, said Tuesday. Credentials have been sent to heads of locals from Mr. Morgan's office. Each local union will be entitled en-titled to one vote for the charter and an additional vote for each SO members or fraction thereof, according ac-cording to the official call issued from the local CIO headquarters. Mr. Morgan said in his letter Jto union heads. "The Typographical union. Press- men's union and Brewery Workers' iorganization have cooperated with the C I O In organizing the workers of Amercla," the letter states. Need Told Mr. Mogan outlined the reasons for forming the CIO state council, which will function in a manner j similar to the Utah State Federation Federa-tion of Labor, the American Federation Federa-tion of Labor affiliate. Mill and Smelter Workers and the United Mine Workers of America were chartered by the A F L at Its recent convention." the labor leader said. "It has become evident that an organization within Utah is necessary neces-sary to bring into closer affiliation the unions affiliated with or in sympathy sym-pathy with the CIO and its policies poli-cies of Industrial organization." |
