Show Women to Ride In Horse Race BALTIMORE, Nov. 11 Prominent Promi-nent sportswomen will ride in Thursday's special flat race at Plm-lico. Plm-lico. "Lady jockeys" expected to compete com-pete included Mrs. Jock Whitney, wife of the millionaire sportsman; Mrs. John Bosley, Maryland's only woman horse trainer, and her daughter, Miss Sarah Bosley, a debutante: de-butante: Miss Ida Kerr of Philadelphia: Philadel-phia: Miss Ellen Merritt, Maryland steeplechaser: Mrs. Jane Bassett nad Miss Betty West, both of Long Island: Mrs. George Saportas and Mrs. B. Howell Griswold III of the Maryland hunting set; Miss Maud K. Stevenson and Miss Bruner Hun-neman Hun-neman of Chestnut Hill, Pa. The Maryland Jockey club, sponsors, spon-sors, limited their mounts to "hunters "hunt-ers who haven't raced for two yeara" as a safety precaution. Prises include cups to winning rider and horse owner. |
