(UP) High Vatican officials wer becoming becom-ing increasingly concerned over the refusal of Pope Pius to rest adequately ade-quately and to guard himself against the strain of long audiences. They fear the rapidly approaching winter may jeopardize his life. Long ceremonies and speeches during th last thre weeks have further weakened the pope, according accord-ing to authoritative church sources. Sunday he granted audiences lasting last-ing over four hours. "You have been told that th pope must not speak and we have been told and we ar Inclined to believe you ar of th same opinion that th pope should not speak," the pop smilingly told an audienc of 700 youths of th Italian Catholic Cath-olic action.
