Show RANGE PROGRAM STUDIED HERE Eight ranchers owning or leasing 33,000 acres in Salt Lake county will be affected by the A A A 1938 range conservation program, it was announced an-nounced Tuesday. Approval of the program, applicable ap-plicable to 17 western states, was made in Washington, D. C, according accord-ing to press dispatches. It calls for soil conservation and prevention of eroeion in certain districts, for which farmers or ranchers will receive re-ceive benefit payments under an allowance based on acreage and carrying capacity of the range. Attaches of the Salt Lake County Farm bureau aaid ranchers here would receive benefits for performing perform-ing such work as well drilling, spring development, building fire guards, drift fences and reseedlng range lands. |
