Show TAX PROSPECTS L00MBRIGHTER Property tax collections which far exceeded estimated returns, a sharp decrease in revenue to th general fund a compared to last year and optimism that returns for the entire fiscal year of 1D34-37 would reach estimated revenuee, were contained in a report Tuesday to Governor Henry H. Blood from S. R. Miles, state budget director. Tha report of tha first (even month of th currant fiscal year, to and including January SI, ahowed general fund collection of only (835,550.59 aa compared with f 1,588,-771.30 1,588,-771.30 for the same period last year, but Indicated th difference would be made up by an estimated $450,000 revenue from the state liquor control con-trol commission before tha year ends. Th decrease, Mr. Miles explained, was caused by suspension this year of the etat property tax levy, because be-cause of a surplus which existed in the general fund last year. Property tax collections this year amounted to $190,757.43 aa compared to S89,105.M for the first seven months of the 1935-3 fiscal year. Mr. Milea estimated total property tax collections will reach (125,000 by July 1, 1S37.
