Show CLEAN-UP DAY IS SUCCESS Springville city underwent a thorough cleaning Monday, when students of the high school under the supervision of faculty members mem-bers and members of the chamber of commerce and Kiwani's club, cleaned the streets. While rain somewhat dampened the ground making it difficult to rake, it did not so affect the spirits of the various va-rious groups who attacked each street with a fine spirit of community com-munity interest and co-operation. The . day's activities, resulting from a proclamation by Mayor A-O. A-O. Thorn, was preceded by a breakfast break-fast at which a large group of Kiwanis club and chamber of commerce com-merce members attended, early Monday morning, at Memorial hall. While high school .students were busy with cleaning the streets, the elementary grade students cleaned the school grounds. Other citizens citi-zens joined the campaign also by cleaning their yards of debris collected col-lected duri'ng the winter. Schools were closed for the day and local lo-cal business houses were open ir: the afternoon. |
