Show IDAHO EXHIBIT READY AT FAIR SAN FRANCISCO, March 29 l'.I:i Finishing touches were placed plac-ed today on the state of Idaho's exhibit at the GoMen Gate International Inter-national exposition last of the group of exhibits by 11 western states and the District of Columbia Colum-bia to be opened on Treasure Is-land. Is-land. Ci-oss-sections of Idaho's agricultural, agri-cultural, forest and scenic wonders won-ders had been transplanted to the island to form the state's $35,000 exhibit. It will be opened formally for-mally tomorrow. The exhibit, arranged under supervision su-pervision of Mrs. Margaret Cobb Ailshie, publisher of the Boise, Idaho, Statesman, and member of the state's commission to the exposition, features gigantic Ar-rowrock Ar-rowrock dam. A miniature is reproduced re-produced at the exhibit which is realistic to the last detail. Alongside the dam are two transplanted five-ton trees, specimens speci-mens of the white pine for which Idaho is famed: Photo murals also enhance attractiveness at-tractiveness of the exhibit. These depict pastoral scenes and skiing at Sun Valley and are flanked by wood carvings depicting phases of the Idaho lumber industry. in-dustry. A robot talking machine voices the story of the founding of Idaho, and explains features of the individual exhibits. A lantern lan-tern slide presentation of Idaho industry and agriculture adds the finishing touch. |
