Show Chamber of Commerce Moves to Get Federal Building For Springvilie A meeting of the public build-ngs build-ngs committee of the " Spring-iile Spring-iile chamber of commerce con-nsting con-nsting of George A. Anderson, ;hairman; Dean Stewart, O. P. Senior, Milt Harrison, Clarence Erdman, E. O. Ostlund, H. T. Reynolds Jr., E. A. Strong anfl I. E. Bird, was held Sunday, March 19, 1939, at 4:30 o'clock p. m., in the directors' room of :he Springvilie bank to discuss .he possibility of getting a fed-;ral fed-;ral building for Springvilie. In lddition to the above members, Presdent C. G. Salisbury and Secretary Harrison Conover, of :he chamber of commerce, were resent. The matter was discussed at ength and it was decided to lommunicate immediately with J. (Vill Robinson, congressman from .his district, and urge him to lse his influence to have an lppropriation made at once for i federal building here. It was pointed out in the neeting that postal regulations regarding the sale of stamps 'had )een complied with, and also the :act that Springvilie is the larg-:st larg-:st community in the state of Jtah without .a federal building. Members of the committee were assigned to contact the Springvilie Spring-vilie Kiwanis club, the Ameri-;an Ameri-;an Legion and the Ladies' club ind all other organizations, urg-ng urg-ng them to write to Congress-nan Congress-nan Robinson and express their iews regarding this matter. Citizens of the community are nged to write to Congressman, Robinson, requesting him to act (jrf this matter as soon as possible. |
