Show Engineer Speaks To Lions Club PAYSON E. O. Larsen, engineer en-gineer from the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation in cha'j'ge of the Deer Creek project was the speaker speak-er at a meeting of the Payson Lions club Monday night at the Payson hotel with President J. S. Reece in charge. He described the formation of the country, history of reclamation reclama-tion in Utah and the comparative acreage of cultivated and arid land in the state. He told of the work to be accomplished in the 6'j years of construction of the Deer Creek project at a cost of $13,000,000. Mr. Larsen was formerly of Santaquin and was a member of the class of 1911 at Payson high school, riding the distance on horseback. The club voted to sponsor an Easter egg hunt at Memorial park for the children of Payson and Dr. Lee D. Pfoutz was named as chairman for the event. N. Blaine Winters was named chairman to raise Payson's quota for the advertise ad-vertise Utah fund at the Lions convention in Pittsburgh this summer. sum-mer. . - |
