Show STATE ART TEA PLANNED BY CLUB WOMEN One of the outstanding events to be held in connection with the high school art exhibit in April is a tea, sponsored by the Springvilie Federated clu'bs, comprising the Alpha Beta, Mothers Study and Home Culture, for members of all federated clubs in the state, Saturday, Sat-urday, April 1. The entertainment is scheduled from 3 until 6 o'clock in the gallery of the high school art building. String music will be given by the Masses Carol and Alene Condie and lone Averett, during the afternoon, and visitors will be taken on a tour of the pictures in the art gallery. More than 300 women are expected to attend. The club women of this city have spent much time to make the affair one of the most socially successful suc-cessful events of the art month. It is held principally to interest club women of the state in the art movement and to create a desire de-sire for future visits to the art gallery. Mrs. Arthur Finley, president of the Mothers Study club, is general gen-eral chairman of arrangements and has the program in charge. Mrs. D. B. Welch of the Home Culture club will manage the decorations dec-orations with the assistance of Mrs. J. O. Reynolds, Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Jr., ttnd Mrs. C. E. Eggertsen. Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson, An-derson, president of the Alpha Beta club, lias refreshments in charge and is being assisted by Mrs J. VV. Whiting and Mrs. Harbison. Har-bison. Conover. Mrs.' Harold Chris-tensen Chris-tensen is chairman of invitations and publicity. Invited to pour at the tea are several state and district officials, Mrs. H. C. Jacobs of Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, president of the state federation; federa-tion; Mrs. Sterling Ercanbrack of Provo, vice president; Mrs. C. J. Peacock of Ogden, fine arts chairman chair-man of the U. F. W. C; Mrs. Leslie Cornaby of Spanish Fork, president of the First district; Mrs. Herald Clark of Provo, art chairman of the First district and Mrs. Harold Christensen of this city, vice president of the First district and state art chairman. In the receiving line will be Mrs. A. O. Thorn, wife of Mayor A. O. Thorn, Mrs. J. F. Wingate, Mrs. Wayne Johnson, Mrs. W. W. Brockbank, Mrs. Mae Huntington, Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Jr., Mrs. C. G. Salisbury, art committee and board members and wives of art committee members; and Mrs. Arthur Fifiley, Mrs. D. B. Welch, Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson, Mrs. Harold Christensen, Mrs. F. C. Packard and Mrs. A. G. Thorn. |
