Show Blood Asked to Aid Passage of Appropriation An appeal to Governor Henry H. Blood to intercede in behalf of WPA workers of Utah to secure passage of President Roosevelt's requested deficiency appropriation appropria-tion of $150,000,000, has been forwarded for-warded by the Workers Alliance, following an inter-county alliance meeting in Provo Sunday. The communication to the governor, gov-ernor, signed by Ivan R. Soren-son, Soren-son, secretary of the inter-county alliance, points out that if the requested appropriation is rejected it will mean that 2000 workers will be laid off in Utah, directly affecting 10,000 citizens and many others indirectly. Many city and county officials have already forwarded communications communi-cations to Washington, asking Utah senators and congressmen to intercede to avoid distress and suffering among the families of WPA workers. Representatives from Utah, Wasatch, and Juab counties attended at-tended the. inter-county alliance meeting. |
