Show JAMES ALLEMAN TAKES SECOND IN STATE MEET i James Alleman, son of Mrs. Emma Alleman of this city and a senior in the Springville high school, won second place in the state Future Farmer oratorical contests held at the state capitol building in Salt Lake City, Saturday. Sat-urday. "Jim" as he is known by his pals and school friends, took first place in the district contests at Provo. His subject was "The Agriculture Agri-culture Situation." While it was Jim's first attempt at-tempt at public speaking, his talk was outstanding and he missed the- state honor only by a slight margin, according to report. He is president of the Springville chapter of F. F. A., which is under the supervision of W. H. Anderson. Ruel E. Crandall of this city, state F. F. A. president who at one time won the state oratorical contest, was chairman of the contest. |
