The kindergarten teachers of the Twelfth ward Sunday school gave a dancing dan-cing party Tuesday evening in the ward l amusement hall. The auditorium was decorated in the school colors, orango and black. Punch was served during the ! evening by members of the senior class. The Beaux Esprit club members were entertained by Mrs. Harold L. Tribe at her home Friday afternoon. The guests were entertained at three tables of "500," with luncheon following. A basket of yellow chrysanthemums graced the center of the table, and place cards, decorated in yellow, designated each guest's place. The Home Culture club met this afternoon after-noon with the president, Mrs. J. F. Hobbs. "Community Music" was the subject, and Mrs. J. G. Reeves led the discussion which followed. Mrs. Chris J. Brown was hostess to the members of her Kensington club Wednesday Wednes-day a fternoon. Mrs. George W. Parlow entertained the , Episcopal guild Wednesday afternoon. Barber entertained the Young Women's guild of the First Presbyterian Pres-byterian church Tuesday evening. A business meeting was held, when plans were made for the winter's work. Thursday evening, at the Esther home, a reception was tendered to the Rev. and Mrs. Christian R. Garver, Miss Belle Ferguson, deaconess of the Methodist church, and the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Frary. The Rev. Mr. Frary is pastor of the Methodist church at Eureka. In honor of her birthday anniversary. Miss Jessie Burton entertained the Social So-cial Twenty club on Saturday evening of last week at her home. Cards were the entertainment and refreshments were served. The SL Joseph's Sewing society met Thursday afternoon at the church hall, with Mrs. William Taylor as hostess. The department W. R. C. of the G. A. R was entertained at a card party at the home of Mrs. P. A. Gysin, Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. Tuesday evening the members of the Bueno Tempo club were entertained by Henry Chipp at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Orson P. Williams. Plans for a hike next week were discussed and the remainder of the evening was spent In music and games. Lieutenant John Van Mitchell returned Thursday evening to Washington, D. C. following a two weeks' visit here as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Glen. Mr. and Mrs. S. Abbott Maginnis and two children visited in Ogden Wednesday and Thursday with Mr. Maginnis's mother. Mrs. W. D. Maginnls, before leaving for Washington, D. C, where Mr. Maginnls will receive Instructions at the state department de-partment preparatory to his trip to Bolivia Bo-livia as minister to that country for the United States. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Dahtin returned to Ogden Monday after a three weeks visit on the Pacific coast. Miss Avon Rich, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward S. Rich, left Monday to attend at-tend the University of Utah. Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Pldcock and little daughter, Margaret, and Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Mitchell and family moved to the city during the week from their summer ; homes in Ogden canyon. Mrs. Mack Garr and little son. Mack, i Jr., left Thursday afternoon tor Xew York , City, from which port they will sail next ; Wednesday for France to join Lieutenant j Colonel Garr. who was a member of General Gen-eral Pershing's staff during the war. and is at present chief of embarkation. Oscar Russell and baby daugh- i ter will leave soon for Salt Lake to join Professor Russell, who is head of the j Spanish department of the University of ; Utah. They have purchased a residence at 11S0 East Seventh South street in the j capital city, where they will be at home to their friends. Professor Russell was a member of the intelligence department of the army and at the close of the war he ft-ent to Spain to study the Spanish language lan-guage at the University of Madrid. He also studied in Portugal, France and Switzerland. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shipley have returned re-turned from an extended tour of the northwest. Miss Beulah Brown, formerly teacher of expression and dramatic art in the Ogden high school, has returned to Ogden Og-den after having spent the summer in Yellowstone park. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur G. Egelhoff left Thursday for Kansas City, where they will spend the fall and winter. Mrs. J. G. Falck, president, and Mrs. Alice Collins, member of the executive committee of the Women of American Patriots, left Friday to attend the national na-tional convention of women's war societies socie-ties to be held in Baltimore, Md., on October rt. 7 and S. Clark Rich, son of Dr. and Mrs. Ezra C. Rich, left during the week for the east, where he will be engaged in missionary mis-sionary work for the Latter-day Saints' church. Mrs. R. Wilson of Salt Lake spent last week-end here, the guest of Mrs. Carl S. Watson. Dr. G. A. Dickson and daughter, Ruth, have gone to Vermont to visit relatives for six weeks. Mrs. Alex Toponce left Thursday for Omaha, where she will visit for a short time before going to Osceola and Grand Island, where she will visit her sister. Mrs. I. D. Reed, aud a nephew. Mrs. Tononce will be awsy about three weeks. Ensign H. Llnyd Millar, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Millar, returned to Ogden on Monday after more than two years' service ser-vice In the navy. After a short visit with friends and relatives, he will leave for Stanford university to resume his studies. Mr. and Mrs. William E.
