Show IT1 PICTURE HOUSEJ OPEN Reconstructed Liberty Theater The-ater to Show Big Pictures Pic-tures as "Gem." Vf. H. Swasoii, managing director ot the Swanson theater circuit ia Salt Lake, lias established a new motion picture theater here. The house, to .be situated ivhere the Liberty theater now stands on (State street near Second South, is to be known as the "Gem," and will be unique in both design and the methods or' handling entertainment. One or' the featured innovations will be a 'gigantic sign, with six-foot letters. let-ters. This will bo the largest advertising advertis-ing sign on any theater in JJtali and will indicate "The brightest spot in town. ' ' The reconstruction js now going on. An entirely new mezzanine is being built with leather divided scats to provide ex'dusiveriess. The decorating of the walls and ceiling is being dono by a New York artist. A stage, with elaborate settings plauued, and orchestra orches-tra pit are now in the course of construction. con-struction. Big pictures only will be shown and these will .bo featured with appropriate settings and musical accompaniments. Tho exact date of the opening of the G-eni is expected to bo announced during dur-ing the comiDg week. |
