A crack half a mile south- of the summit crater of volcano Maima Loa was reported today by Professor Pro-fessor Thomas A. Jagger, United States volcanologist, who returned to Hilo from the scene of the eruption. Lava is filling the crack two miles above the cone caused by the 1916 eruption, according to the professor, and lava spouted from the cone 200 feet into the air when the disturbance was at its height.
