The mare won the first heat with something to spare, as Abbie Putney, the second choice, had made a break on the first turn. The second heat was a repetition' of the first, Abbie Putney breaking on the turn, but in the stretch she overhauled .the field and forced JIollv Knight to a drive to win by a head. Best time. S:0?H.
