It Is now &afe to predict tho early construction of a wagon road from Eureka into the eastern end of the Tintic district. The money necessary neces-sary for the road has been raited a n d the contract for the work awarded. The road will . cott in the neighborhood ot 55000. More than one-fifth of this sum was raised among the local business men, twice 3 much will be contributed by the mining properties which are located in the vicinity of the Tintic Standard, and the remainder will be subscribed by th commissioners of Utah county, who were over the route again la st Saturday a nd gave the matter their final indorsement. The road branches off tho main-traveled highway at a point juat ea&t of th Summit and takes a' very satisfactory grade through to the property of the Eureka Eu-reka Bullion Mining company. To the Eureka Bullion it will be an entirely new roadway, and from that property to the 'Tintic Standard it is timply a question of improving the present road, as there is no chance of reducing the grade. Ths construction of this ne-v wagon road will mean much to the people of 1 Eureka. Ir ought to be tiie means ot bringing' a lot more of the business of the newer mines in this direction. The properties will be benefited to a great extent, as it will make it easier for them to get needed supplies and to hold, men. as mine workers are always anxious to J a ocept employ men t which does not take j them too far away from the larger camps. |
