The women of tho farm bim.-au ami the girls in the Farr Will district have, canned fifty gallons of tomatoes, which will be used In the m hools of that district iu the preparation prepara-tion of hot lunches to be served to the pupils this winter. The county board of education obtained ob-tained two canning machines, which are beinj; used in the canning of tomatoes to-matoes and late fruits ia the economic classes in the schools. Ij.-.Y. Fowler, county superintendent, has been authorized by the board to purchase the equipment for the serving of hot lunches in tho schools during the winter months. The committee which has taken up tho matter of serving hot lunches to the school children is composed of the following: Mrs. . A. Barnes, Mrs. 0. K. T.arkin, Mrs. M. K. Jacobs and Miss F.llen Agren. The committee visited vis-ited (Salt Lake during the week and studied, tho methods of serving hot lunches in the Salt Lake City and county schools. |
