Show SALT LAKE TO BE AERIAL MAIL STOP In answer Lo his inquiry as 'to Salt Lake's chances for designation as a stopping stop-ping place on the aerial postal route, when it is extended from Chicago to San Francisco, Mayor Ferry received an optimistic opti-mistic letter yesterday from Senator Smoot. Enclosed was a letter lo Senator Smoot from Postmaster Clencral Burleson, in which the head of the postal service, under date of November 4, expressed a hope that It would be found e.pedi-ent'to e.pedi-ent'to include this city on the direct transcontinental route. It Included the information that establishment of the route probably would not be undertaken until after the war. Now that the war is at an end. Senator Smoot expressed confidence that early results may be expected, ex-pected, and that Salt Lake will be included in-cluded as one of the aerial route moil stations. |
