Show INFLUENZA AGI MENACING PiOi Stringent Measure to Combat Com-bat Disease Considered at Conference. Special to The Tribune. FROVO, Nov. 13. A meeting of the city commission, City Physician "Walter J. Hasler, County Physician E. G. Hughes, Dr. J. W. Alrd of the Provo General hospital. hos-pital. City Recorder Fred Evans and Quarantine Officer Adam Anderson was hold this afternoon in the city commission commis-sion room for the consideration of means to be taken to overcome the influenza, which appears to be increasing. The opinion seems to be general that the crowds that gathered Monday to celebrate the signing of the armistice, and more particularly the apparent result of the celebration, which seems to have been to make the people less careful In avoiding crowds, has caused a renewal of the spread of the disease. It was decided that the quarantine regulations must be strictly enforced, that the congregation of people on the streets and in stores must be stopped, and that people who enter stores or other places of business must wear masks. Doctors must also report cases more promptly than some of them have done in the past; and it Is urged that the persons per-sons who experience any illness consult a physician at once, as the symptoms vary to such a degree that a self-diagnosis cannot be made with safety. |
