Show mm sir f H BIG ESTATE Will of Mrs. Russell Sage j Disposes of $50,000,000 Fortune. Numerous Other Charitable Enterprises Remembered in Bequests. NEW IORK, Nov. 13. The will of Mrs. Margaret Olivia Sage, who was the widow of Russell Sag-e, was filed for probate today; to-day; disposing of an estate valued at aboyt $50,000,000. Of this $8,000,000 is t..ue. bed to her brother, Joseph Slocum. Bequests to public institutions are both specific and residuary, some sixty being made tn sums ranging from 10,000 to 51-5,000, and also in the form of fifty-two fifty-two equal parts of her residuary estate. The largest specific gift to any institution institu-tion Is $125,000 to the Association for the Relief of Respectable Aged Indigent Females In this city. To the Northfleld schools, Mlddlebury college, Rutger's college, Syracuse university uni-versity and Hampton institute specific bequests of $100,000 each are left, the same amount also being given to the V. M. C. A. and the Y. W. C. A. in New York City. Smaller sums are left to various hospitals, churches, mission societies and charitable aid organizations. organiza-tions. " Foundation Remembered. e ..In the residuary legacies tho largest goes to the Russell Sage foundation, which received seven parts of the residuary residu-ary estate. Syracuse university is left two parts, as also are the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History. Among educational institutions which are bequeathed one part each are Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Amherst. "Wll-liams, "Wll-liams, Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Vassar, Smith and Wellesley. The will provides that of the $8,000,000 left to Joseph Slocum. $1,000,000 Is held In trust for his life, with the remainder to Ills children. To each of Mrs. Sage's nephews, Herbert Herman Slocum and Stephen L'Hommedieu Slocum. and to her niece, Margaret Olivia Flint, a bequest be-quest of $100,000 is made. Among other personal legacies are $50,000 each to Helen Chapin, niece of Russell Sage, and Ellen Sage, widow of Rufus Sage. The Rev. Donald Sage Mackay and Dr. D. Bryson Delaven are to receive 525,000 each. The residuary estate is estimated at approximately $35,000,000, which would make each of the parts Into which it is divided worth about $700,000. Other Bequests.
