Show WRITES OF BEING ilEDJT FRONT Reed Holdaway Advises Parents He Has Been Slightly Wounded. Special to The Tribune. AURORA, Nov. 13. Mr. and Mrs. George Holdaway of Aurora have received re-ceived a letter from their Hon, Reed Holdaway, In which he telle of having been ellghtly wounded October 3 at the front In Franco. Mr. Holdaway, who Is with the marine forces, writes as follows, under date of October 7: "Dearest Mother I have had but one letter from you all the while I have been in France, and I expect to be back In the states before I get another. By the looks of the morning paper .the war will be over In a few days. The kaiser is asking for peace on Wilson's terms. "Wo went 'over the top' the morning of Oetobor 3 and our company took more prisoners than any other company In the division. When we came to a large, dugout dug-out we threw down a hand grenade and out would come the Huns. Thoy got down on their knees and bogged for their lives. They were noarly scared to death. "We gained our objective before 0 o'clock In the morning, although we were not expected to gain it until 6 o'clock in the evening. "That night I was asleep In some Hun barracks that wo had captured, when a high explosive shell made a direct hit right over my head, flattened the barracks bar-racks to the ground and filled the air with gas. All I got out of it was a little scratch on the left arm and a few small burns from the mustard gas.' i . "I arrived here at the hospital yesterday yes-terday morning and expect to go hack to my company in a day or ao. . "I would like to take a little liberty trip through Paris, but don't suppose I will have a chance. I have not had a liberty' since I have been In France. T nont. you 600 francs through the T. M. C.
