Show LOGGER GETTING SURPRISING VALUES Picked Samples From North. Drift of Mine Give Assays of 5498 Per Ton. R. D. ZWaxfield, vice president and general gen-eral manager of the Logger mine of Big Cottonwood, is down from the camp with some samples of the lately encountered ore In the nortli drift. It did not require the knowledge of an expert miner to determine de-termine that they were high grade, but Mr. Maxfield sought to satisfy his curiosity curi-osity by an official assay, and found that the oTe carried 23.44 ounces in gold, witli 26 ounces silver, giving a value of S49S per ton. It Is true that at present no large body of this sensationally rich ore has been opened, but it Is also true that the development de-velopment of this ground may lead the miners to the source of the wonderfuily rich float found by prospectors many years ago. Nevertheless, samples taken across the seven-foot face In the west drift give average values of $t;.4.45 per ton, and there is every indication that a big body of ore equal to the last-mentioned assav will be opened In this portion por-tion of the' property. j |
