Show Spike Darcy-McCoy Go. ALBANY, N. Y.. Feb. 21. The ten-round ten-round boxing bout to be fought by Al McCoy and Les Darcy, the Australian, at Madison Square Garden on March ft seems to be prohibited by a decision of the siate athletic commission In accordance with which McCoy must first fulfill a verbal contract made with the Broadway Sporting Sport-ing club of Brooklyn. The decision was announced tonight by Commissioner Fra-ney, Fra-ney, who had voted against compelling McCoy to fulfill his verbal agreement. Chairman Wenck of the commission at a meeting In New York yesterday voted to hold McCoy to the verbal contract, and the deciding vote waa cast by telegraph today bv Commissioner . Dwyer, who agreed with the chairman. McCoy was said to have agreed verbally verbal-ly to meet Jack Dillon of Indianapolis before the Broadway Sporting club last September. When he was matched with Darcy the club asked that the commission commis-sion "compel McCoy to fulfill his agreement. |
